Back Story: Derek Cole was born the first male child of Marcus Cole of Praetorian Earth. Born of an affair between his father and mother Shalice Tilman, known as Mother Mayhem on Praetorian Earth, his twin sister Aliyah was hidden away from him until he was fifteen. He spent much of his early years in Tyrant’s palace on Praetorian Earth growing up with his half brother Stefan who was a year younger. When Derek’s powers were discovered at the age of four he was given over to Anti-Matter who subjected him to all manner of tests to determine if he was as godlike as his father. He proved every bit the avatar of Zeus that Tyrant was and when his ability to manipulate bio energy to increase his strength appeared he became his father’s instrument in hunting the resistance to his rule.

During his teens he met and fell in love with a young woman named Corrine, she was the daughter of Tyrant’s chief assassin, and when she began displaying powers of her own, she was soon joining her boyfriend on off world raids. In their early twenties the two began to drift apart as another had caught Derek’s eye. When Corrine was lost on an off-world mission and his brother disappeared, it was Skylor he turned to. They fell in love and for a time were happy. Then his father came to him with a mission, one that would forever change his life.

When he arrived on Earth Prime, he was mistaken for his father and arrested. Under interrogation he confessed his mission. Kidnap Ms. Liberty back to Praetorian Earth to use as bait. It was through the intervention of Sister Psyche that he was released. For six months she watched over him, and for six months he learned what being a hero was like. Finally, she allowed him his freedom. He chose to stay on Earth prime, and registered as a hero, and soon after applying for membership within the Freedom Phalanx. A few months later he met Dierdre, a clone of his best friend, and the two were inseparable from almost the minute she returned to Paragon. He proposed in January of 2006, and they were married in a private ceremony at Niagra Falls two months later. Over time he’s been a Phalanxer, a member of Exodus, and finally joined the Crusaders to spend more time with his daughters, Erin, a time displaced child of his and Abigail Adams, and Haley, whom he and his wife adopted after she saved him from his father.

Recently learned to both communicate telepathically, as well as project himself astrally though it takes a toll on him and he is left weakened for a long period after.
